About Teria

I am Teria. Teria Brooks. Photography and computer technology enthusiast. I am a wife to a wonderful man that I've been so blessed to be with for eternity. I'm a mother of a 2 year old boy. Being a mother has changed my outlook on life completely, especially photographically. I want to capture his everyday and special moments in a unique artistic way. I am currently attending Dixie State College (again) to earn a degree in Visual Technologies. I have always enjoyed computer work and creating on the computer. I've created this website myself with the knowledge I acquired from one basic internet development course I recently took. I hope you can see from this site that I work hard to achieve my goals and then perfect them. I am a simple person with a huge love of life. I currently reside with my family in sunny St. George, Utah.

My Photographic Journey

I have always enjoyed taking photographs. I've had a camera early in my youth and took photos often. It wasn't until I took my first photography class in high school that it sparked something. The class was a film photography class and I believe that learning to use a SLR camera with film was the best thing that has ever happened in my learning of photography. Early in my college years in 2005, I took another photography film class and learned to develop my own photographs. I learned even more about correct exposure and correct principles of composition. My life became busy when I got married and had a child and I didn't take as many photographs as I normally do now. However, when my son was about 6 months old, I realized I wanted to capture sweet moments in his life, and I wanted to capture them stupendously. I then started diving into photography even more and taking pictures of other people. I'm constantly learning about photography techniques so that I may better myself and your photographs.

Why Teria Photography?

I know there are many photographers out there. Here is what sets me apart from the crowd:
1. I know how to use a camera. Sounds a little ridiculous, right? It makes me sad to hear that people hire out "photographers" and get undesired photographs. It also makes me sad to hear that some of these photographers use their cameras on "auto". I want you to know that I use my professional DSLR camera on manual mode 100% of the time. Even when I'm not taking a professional photo shoot, I still use it on manual mode. I have complete control of my camera, and like it that way. Because of my knowledge, I can confidently expose your photographs the correct way. From the way my camera focuses, to the way it is exposed in every detail, I have complete control.
2. I strive for the highest quality photographs possible.
3. I care about you and your photographs. I know firsthand how important a good family portrait or wedding photography is.
4. I'm straight forward and honest.
5. I'm professional, and act professional too. You won't see me in jeans at a wedding photo shoot. Thanks for looking at Teria Photography!
